Liz strides ahead as a Health Care Assistant (January 30, 2010)
The practice was recently delighted when Liz, one of our long-serving receptionists, took the plunge to train as a Health Care Assistant.

Liz is now assisting the GPs and practice nurses by holding regular phlebotomy clinics (blood taking) to free GP and nurse time to undertake more complex tasks. She will also be acquiring skills in ECG recording, blood pressure measurement, spirometry and urine analysis in the coming months, and offer more appointments to patients for these services.

Please try to book for routine tests with a practice nurse or Liz rather than the GP if possible - this keeps GP appointments for sick patients who have complex health problems.
