When We Are Closed
Outside of normal surgery hours the emergency out-of-hours (OOH) service operates. This is accessed by calling NHS24 on 111. A trained nurse advisor will take your details and problem, and depending on the nature of your concern, will:
- Arrange for a nurse/GP to call you back with advice/reassurance
- Arrange for you to have an appointment with a GP at your nearest OOH Primary Healthcare Emergency Centre (PHEC). Your nearest centre is at Golspie.
- Arrange, if the clinical situation suggests it is necessary, for GP home visit
Out-of-hours services are generally busy so please think carefully before asking to see a doctor and only do so if you genuinely cannot wait until the surgery re-opens.
In a genuine emergency you should call 999. Chest pains and / or shortness of breath constitute an emergency.
